DESCRIPTION:Dev-Ops has emerged as a powerful trend in the startup and sof
 tware engineering community over the past few years. But what does it real
 ly mean? Cliff will introduce 12 principles for successful DevOps and disc
 uss how Amazon builds and deploys software at a global scale.\n\n\nSpeaker
  bio: Cliff McCollum has been with Amazon for over seven years. He is a So
 ftware Development Manager for the Machine Learning team in Amazon's Suppl
 y Chain Optimization group. Prior to joining Amazon in Cambridge he worked
  for Amazon in Victoria\, British Columbia building customer-facing tools 
 for sellers on Amazon's Marketplace. He has a passion for creating softwar
 e at cloud-scale and in helping improve software development methods. He l
 oves working at the interface between domains\, in particular where busine
 ss-processes and software-development meet. As a long-time software develo
 pment manager and system-architect\, he finds it particularly exciting whe
 n these two worlds come together.\n\nPrior to Amazon\, Cliff spent many ye
 ars working at startups where he's held the role of Systems Architect\, Di
 rector of Software Development\, and Vice-President of Technology. He has 
 worked on the committee for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority a
 nd chaired multiple Software Management community groups. He holds a Maste
 rs in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. Outside of work\, 
 Cliff can be found running\, scuba diving\, driving his motorcycle or snow
 boarding.\n\n\n
