DESCRIPTION: A family of expanders is a sequence of finite graphs that are
  uniformly sparse and yet highly connected. In this talk I will show\n how
  to construct expanders by approximating actions on manifolds that are `mi
 xing enough'. Time permitting\, I will also\n illustrate some peculiar asp
 ects of the geometry of the expanders thus obtained.
