DESCRIPTION:Dr Tim Witney leads the Molecular Imaging Group at University
College London’s Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging. His research is
concerned with the development of next generation tools for cancer diagno
sis\, monitoring of therapeutic response and detection of drug resistance.
Tim obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge in
2010\, where he worked in the laboratory of Prof. Kevin Brindle on dynamic
nuclear polarization as a novel method for detecting tumour response to t
herapy. In 2010 Tim joined the laboratory of Prof. Eric Aboagye at Imperia
l as a Postdoctoral Research Associate\, developing novel positron emissio
n tomography radiotracers for cancer imaging\, before moving to Stanford U
niversity in 2013 to work under Prof. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir as a postdoctoral
Research Scholar. In 2015 he returned to the UK under a UCL Excellence Fe
llowship before being awarded the Sir Henry Dale Fellowship that same year
to set up his laboratory. He will move to King’s College London in Octo
ber 2018 as a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Imaging. \n\n
