DESCRIPTION:Our presentation reviews the physical effects that were predic
 ted in our papers and that later were developed into new engineering and i
 ndustrial directions or have shown their importance for various applicatio
 ns. They include surface modification by ion beams\; a field evaporation e
 ffect in high-gradient rf linacs that can help mitigate high-voltage rf br
 eakdown in future TeV accelerators\; bubble formation and erosion of the f
 irst wall of the fusion reactor\; and a new nanopumping effect that has sh
 own a potential for applications in various industrial fields including wa
 ter desalination and cancer treatment.
