DESCRIPTION:Maurice Glasman is a political theorist\, academic\, social co
 mmentator\, and Labour life peer in the House of Lords. He is a senior lec
 turer in political theory at London Metropolitan University\, and Director
  of its Faith and Citizenship Programme. His academic work has focused on 
 the works and thinking of Karl Polanyi. More widely\, Glasman is perhaps b
 est known as a founder of Blue Labour\, a term he coined in 2009. "Blue La
 bour" has argued that Labour should embrace patriotism and a return to com
 munity values based on trade unions and voluntary groups\, which Glasman c
 laims was evident in early Labour politics but was lost after 1945 with th
 e rise of the welfare state. Glasman is also known for a range of (often c
 ontroversial) views: he supported Brexit\; he is against Jewish settlement
  on the West Bank.\n\nThe title of Lord Glasman's lecture is ‘On Faith a
