DESCRIPTION:A talk by Simon Smith who founded civil and structural enginee
 rs Smith and Wallwork in 2012. Simon is also an affiliated lecturer at CUE
 D as well as a director of Trada and trustee of CFCI.\nSimon will talk abo
 ut some of the projects he has worked on including the Gazprom Tower in Ru
 ssia\, award winning concrete and timber buildings as well as recent colla
 borations with artist Alex Chinneck. Research projects at CUED will also b
 e presented. Throughout his talk Simon will touch on the broad skills dema
 nded of engineers in modern construction.\n
