DESCRIPTION:Since March 2014\, all PLOS journals require that the minimal
dataset necessary to replicate published results is made openly available.
Recent analysis of our data availability statements suggests that\, whil
e the vast majority of researchers formally comply with our policy\, encou
raging scientific communities to fully embrace the philosophy of open data
sharing may require more work. As a remedy\, we are discussing data shar
ing standards with the scientific community in order to make open data tru
ly FAIR - findable\, accessible\, interoperable and re-usable. Leonie wil
l talk about the practical aspects of sharing data openly for better trans
parency and reproducibility and hopes to discuss with the audience what FA
IR data sharing would mean in their field of study.
