DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Synapse development requires precise coordination of
numerous molecules acting in a highly spatially and temporally controlled
manner. While many molecules have been identified to regulate synapse dev
elopment\, how different proteins work in concert to control synapse forma
tion remains largely unclear. Our recent work has demonstrated novel funct
ion of cell surface molecules in inhibitory synapse formation and revealed
a general framework for inhibitory synaptogenesis. These findings contrib
ute towards a better understanding of synapse development and the molecula
 r pathologies of brain disorders.
