DESCRIPTION:Chang-yup KIM\, MD\, PhD\, MPH\, is a professor of health poli
 cy at the School of Public Health\, Seoul National University. \n\nHis cur
 rent researches include health and social policy\, equity and justice in h
 ealth\, health reform\, and global health policy. He is the founding presi
 dent of the Korean Society for Equity in Health\, and the former president
  of the Academy for Critical Health Policy\, Korea Society for Global Heal
 th\, and Korea Society of Health Policy and Administration. Also he has in
 volved in research activities in collaboration with civil society\, curren
 tly holding the position of the president and director of the People’s H
 ealth Institute\, an independent non-for-profit research organization. \n\
 nHe has consulted for the Korean government including as an adviser to the
  Minister of Health and Welfare\, and he was the founding director of the 
 National Health Insurance Research Institute during 2000 and 2001 (current
 ly Health Insurance Policy Research Institute of the National Health Insur
 ance Service). During 2006-2008\, he served as the president of Health Ins
 urance Review and Assessment Services. Currently he is the chairman of the
  board for the Seoul Metropolitan City Foundation of Public Health and Hea
 lth Care\, and a member of the Presidential Committee on Aging Society and
  Population Policy. \n
