DESCRIPTION:Unipolar depression in adolescents is a major mental health bu
 rden with a 50% recurrence rate into adult life. Current treatments are sh
 ort term lasting around 12-20 weeks and only moderately effective at best 
 effecting a remission rate  in around two-thirds of those entering clinica
 l trials. Whether genetic\, physiological  and developmental  processes ar
 e useful in aiding treatment decision making is not known: these possibili
 ties will be the focus of this presentation.
