DESCRIPTION:Abstract: We propose to briefly overview the main concepts of
Network Science. Network Science is a relatively new field and its main ob
jective is to understand the relation between (a) the process (or function
) over the network and (b) the graph structure (or topology) of the networ
k itself. This duality distinguishes Network Science from graph theory and
from dynamic processes and system's theory.\nFirst\, we present\, from th
e perspective of telecommunications\, our personal view on the history of
Network Science and its fascinations. Then\, we discuss a simple process t
hat allows mathematical analysis: epidemic spread on networks\, a way of d
 iffusing information in a network.\n\nBio: https://www.nas.ewi.tudelft.nl/
