 sumers and the personalisation of medicine\, building on the discussions f
 rom the first reading group in Michaelmas. We will explore this topic usin
 g concepts such as embodiment\, the quantified self\, and biopolitics\, wh
 ile also adopting a critical historical perspective on the development of 
 the idea of patients as consumers. The discussion will be framed by a cons
 ideration of political economy\, and the role big data plays in shaping th
