DESCRIPTION:The vast majority of physics analyses at the LHC makes use of
the\nconcept of jets. Furthermore\, algorithms that exploit the substructu
re\nof jets in order to disentangle massive boosted particles that decay\n
hadronically from QCD jets have also become mainstream and they are\nused
in a growing number of searches and measurements. In this talk\,\nafter re
viewing the main ideas behind jet substructure algorithms\,\nI discuss the
ir status in terms of performance and robustness and\nillustrate how they
can be exploited\, not only in searches for new\nphysics\, but also in ord
er to extract fundamental parameters of the\nStandard Model.\n
