DESCRIPTION:This talk will argue for the need to rethink adaptation to cli
 mate change using the concept of situated knowledge. It will explore what 
 is particularly unique about anthropogenic climate change as an environmen
 tal problem that unsettles our understanding of the humans as biological b
 eings. The talk will  build on the case study of coffee growers in South I
 ndia.
