DESCRIPTION:Is healthcare a human right? Are we making progress in bringin
 g healthcare into the human rights framework? Dr. Sridhar Venkatapuram is 
 at the forefront of Global Health ethics\, and will share his practical ex
 perience in developing health as a human right.\n\nDr. Sridhar Venkatapura
 m has been at the cutting edge of health ethics for over 20 years. He is a
  Wellcome Trust Senior Fellow at Global Health Ethics Unit- WHO\, Senior L
 ecturer in Global Health and Philosophy at King’s College London\, and F
 ounding Director of their MSc Global Health & Social Justice program. He h
 as been at the forefront of many global health ethics campaigns\, which in
 cluded early work on human rights in HIV/AIDS\, pioneering health as a hum
 an right with Human Rights Watch\, and putting forward the “Capability a
 pproach” as a positive public health framework. He gives lectures worldw
 ide on global health ethics\, and consults for prominent global health org
 anisations including the WHO\, the Open Society Institute\, and the Popula
 tion Council.  His PhD in political philosophy was done at King's College\
 , Cambridge.\n
