DESCRIPTION:Engineering in the water sector throws up a number of challeng
 es\, not least for the geotechnical engineer.  However\, these challenges 
 are not all technical: information availability\, logistics\, budgets and 
 even political influence can shape the engineering solutions that are deve
 loped.  Engineers sometimes need a “what can we do with what we’ve got
 ?” attitude.  The talk will illustrate a number of these issues with the
  aid of some project examples from the UK and overseas.
