DESCRIPTION:CRISPR is poised to have a revolutionary impact on patients’
  lives. Over 6\,000 human diseases are caused by mutations in a single gen
 e. These are potentially amenable to 'curative' CRISPR medicine. Dr Russel
 l will describe the technology which has taken the scientific community by
  storm\, and explore its wide and\, often\, unexpected applications\, incl
 uding a discussion on the world’s first CRISPR babies born in China. He 
 will then describe how medical professionals are using the technology\, in
 cluding an approach taken to correct the cells of a patient suffering from
  Primary Immunodeficiency disease.
