DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the second lecture in the\nMental H
 ealth Life-course Lecture Series:\n\n*Blueprint: The DNA revolution and a 
 lifespan approach to psychological traits*\n\nWe are delighted to welcome 
 *Prof. Robert Plomin*\, FBA\, Professor of Behavioural Genetics at the Soc
 ial\, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre\, Institute of Psychiatr
 y\, Kings College London.\n\nProfessor Plomin is an international expert i
 n behavioural genetics and directs one of the world’s leading twin studi
 es\, the Twins Early Development Study (TEDS)\, which has followed over 10
 \,000 twin pairs and is one of the longest-running and largest twin studie
 s in the world. Professor Plomin is a recipient of lifetime achievement aw
 ards from the Behavioural Genetics Association\, the American Psychologica
 l Association\, and the Society for Research in Child Development.\n\nHis 
 Life-Span Lecture will draw from his recent book\, *Blueprint: How DNA mak
 es us who we are* to argue that DNA is the most important factor shaping w
 ho we are and that the DNA differences inherited from our parents are the 
 consistent\, life-long source of psychological individuality. He will hold
 -up the potential for behavioural genetics to predict our psychological pr
 omise and problems\, requiring us to rethink parenting\, education and soc
 iety.\n\nLunch and networking will begin at 12.30pm\, followed by the lect
 ure starting at 1.15pm\n\nCar parking can’t be booked – there are mult
 i-storey car parks on site (Car Park 2 on the map)\, or there is also Park
