 ust a few examples where superconductivity can be applied. Superconductors
  make possible the transfer of high density current without any resistance
 \, overcoming one of the main limitations linked to energy transport on co
 nventional wires -heat losses.\n\nIn this talk you will be introduced to k
 ey moments in the history of superconductivity and some of its most highli
 ghted applications from macro-scale to nano-scale devices. At a small scal
 e\, it will be covered how superconducting thin films are fabricated\, cha
 racterized\, and some of its applications in the field of Super-Spintronic
 s developed in the Device Materials research group\, at the University of 
 Cambridge.
