DESCRIPTION:This talk will consider two very different Bronze Age settleme
 nts\, through zooarchaeological study of their faunal assemblages\, their 
 architecture and distinctive environment(s). One\, a remarkable dryland si
 te featuring a multi-enclosure complex and an unparalleled volume of anima
 l bone\, and the other a wetland pile dwelling with outstanding preservati
 on and an unusual approach to animal use. These two assemblages offer a gr
 eat opportunity to look into some of the advantages\, but also the challen
 ges\, of interpreting faunal assemblages within the commercial archaeologi
 cal sector.
