DESCRIPTION:Who would you rather have access to human-level artificial int
elligence: the US government\, Google\, the Chinese government or Baidu? T
he biggest governments and tech firms are the most likely to develop advan
ced AI\, so understanding their goals\, abilities and constraints is a vit
al part of predicting AI’s trajectory. \n\n--\n\nJade Leung is the Head
of Research and Partnerships at the Centre for Governance of Artificial In
telligence (GovAI)\, housed at the Future of Humanity Institute\, Universi
ty of Oxford (https://www.fhi.ox.ac.uk/governance-ai-program/). GovAI stri
ves to help humanity capture the benefits and mitigate the risks of artifi
cial intelligence\, focusing on the political challenges arising from tran
sformative AI: advanced AI systems whose long-term impacts may be as profo
und as the industrial revolution. Jade’s work focuses on emerging and du
 al-use technology governance\, the role of private companies\, firm-govern
ment relations\, and international cooperation.\n\nAlongside her work at G
ovAI\, Jade is a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford in Internationa
l Relations. She is also the founding COO of Soul Capital\, New Zealand's
first impact investment fund\, and Co-Lead of the Rhodes Artificial Intell
igence Lab\, an action lab consultancy which uses AI and machine learning
to create solutions to high-impact problems. \n\nIn this talk\, Jade will
explore how we can think about major players in AI. Join us for a fascinat
