DESCRIPTION:I personally find maths far more exciting when I can see what 
 I'm doing\, but in the face of formal definitions and dry notation that is
 n't always easy. With the help of drawings\, models and imagination I will
  help the audience think about hyperbolic surfaces\, groups\, and higher d
 imensional spheres.\n\nMy talk will have lots of audience participation an
 d will mostly be accessible to Freshers and above. I don't intend to go in
 to too much detail on the formal definition of the hyperbolic plane from 1
 B Geometry\, but hopefully what I say will be useful for those going on to
  study it.
