DESCRIPTION:We define what is classically meant by a 'modular form'\, whic
 h are certain holomorphic functions on upper half plane satisfying certain
  functional equations\; and we give two ways of constructing it. By a key 
 finite dimensionality result\, we can deduce the exact number of writing a
  number as sum of four squares as an easy corollary.
