DESCRIPTION:We identify bias in interview procedures\, tests and examinati
ons through established psychometric procedures. But identification is not
the same as removal. Given a large enough sample it is possible to demons
trate bias in any assessment\, a reflection of the inequalities that exist
in society. Assessments and tests are messengers: too often they're gett
ing blamed for the message. How should assessment professionals deal with
the inequalities in society that emerge from the practice of their art?Thi
s seminar looks at various forms of bias and examines legal implications a
nd the role of the assessment professional in building a more just society
 .
