DESCRIPTION:Our research aims to mechanistically define how synapses are f
 ormed and remodeled. We have identified that synaptic adhesion molecules c
 an guide and even instruct synapse development. One current research inter
 est is to map the topography and dynamics of the synaptic cleft on a nanos
 cale. On a functional level\, we additionally address how distinct synapse
  organizers cooperate to guide neuronal connectivity and how they control 
 network maturation.\n\n\n
