DESCRIPTION:Image sensors and imaging techniques are getting more and more
  versatile\, powerful and ubiquitous. It can be said that their progress h
 as far outpaced our ability in fully utilising their potential. In this ta
 lk\, the recent progress on image based combustion and flow diagnostic tec
 hniques made in Manchester will be presented. It will cover\, 3D stereo im
 aging\, high speed imaging and flame colour analysis. The technology has p
 rogressed to a stage that all the just mentioned three aspects may be comb
 ined into one and potentially for real machine test at high pressure and t
 emperature.
