DESCRIPTION:Bodies with wide recirculating wake concern most of vehicles i
 n the transport industries such as cars\, lorries or ships superstructure.
  The large drag induced by the wake is an important source of waste of ene
 rgy that requires to be addressed for sustainability of our future vehicle
 s. The seminar will present recent progress in the comprehension of the gl
 obal wake dynamics about the identification of the static symmetry breakin
 g mode and its important contribution to the aerodynamic loading. The work
  will focus on both academic and industrial geometries (real cars) to demo
 nstrate the promising potential of drag reduction using flow control.
