DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Migration Society presents a panel discussion on
  the hostile environment and the NHS in the UK. We will be joined by repre
 sentatives of Doctors of the World and Docs Not Cops who will discuss impl
 ications of the hostile environment on migrants' access to healthcare. Doc
 s Not Cops is a campaign group of NHS professionals and patients who belie
 ve health is a right and not a privilege. Doctors of the World is an indep
 endent humanitarian movement working at home and abroad to empower exclude
 d people to access healthcare.\n\nSpeakers:\nDr Peter Gough\, Doctors of t
 he World\nDr Jessica Potter\, Docs Not Cops\n\nAbout Dr Gough:\nPeter has 
 been an NHS Family Doctor since 1984 and in 2000 became involved in projec
 ts in Rajasthan\, India addressing issues of migration\, health\, educatio
 n\, housing and the lack of opportunities for girls and women. Peter joine
 d Doctors of the World as a volunteer GP in 2015 and regularly works in th
 eir clinics in East London\, serving undocumented migrants\, asylum seeker
 s\, refugees and the homeless. Many of the people seen in these clinics ha
 ve suffered from psychological and physical trauma\, even torture and he i
 s committed to the contribution that Family Medicine can make to the rebui
 lding of lives.\n\nAbout Dr Potter:\nDr Jessica Potter is a respiratory do
 ctor and recently completed her MRC-funded PhD. Her research used qualitat
 ive methods to explore how migrants with TB access healthcare in a UK cont
 ext. She campaigns for the healthcare rights of migrants and against racis
