Associate Professor in Personalised Oncology and leads the Gastrointestina
l Cancer Biology and Genomics team at the Institute of Cancer Research (IC
R)\, London. Dr Valeri is also clinically active\; he is a Consultant Medi
cal Oncologist and specialises in the treatment of patients with gastroint
estinal cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. His research is fo

or Clinical Lecturer at Glasgow University before being appointed a team l
eader at the ICR's Centre of Molecular Pathology in 2013. Dr Valeri’s La

t in gastrointestinal cancer patients. Using tissue and liquid biopsies hi
s team aims to define molecular mechanisms and dynamics that govern primar
y and acquired resistance to anti-cancer treatment. Dr Valeri’s team is
also developing large bio-banks of mini-tumours\, known as organoids\, fro
m metastatic cancer patients to model treatment response.”\n
