DESCRIPTION:Optical tweezing has become an established technique for the c
haracterisation of individual aerosol droplets. Such single particle meas
urements are crucial for understanding the fundamental thermodynamic and k
inetic properties of aerosol particles in the atmosphere and in industry.\
n\nIn this presentation I will discuss the development of a new tweezer ba
sed instrument that is able to simultaneously trap\, manipulate and charac
terise arrays of aerosol droplets. This tool will enable comparative meas
urements to be performed on droplets of differing composition\, as well as
the study of droplet – droplet interactions and chemistry. \n
