DESCRIPTION:Hannah will present her PhD research (yet to be examined) whic
 h explores the decision to demolish or adapt existing buildings on large u
 rban development projects (masterplan sites). Through professional intervi
 ews\, focus groups and three case study investigations\, she has explored 
 what is currently considered when making these decisions and how \ntwo com
 monly cited benefits of adaptation\, the retention of heritage and savings
  in embodied carbon are interpreted and translated into practice. Her rese
 arch then proposes recommendations to stakeholders to reduce negative econ
 omic\, environmental and social impacts when making these decisions. \n
