DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nThe USB4 standard was announced in March with littl
 e public information (and lots of speculation). The standard is expected t
 o be released publicly in the middle of the year. This talk will give an o
 verview of USB4 and some thoughts on its use in Chromebooks. (If the spec 
 has not yet become public then some of the details may need to be left vag
 ue!)\n\nBio:\nMark Hayter is currently a visitor from industry with the Co
 mputer Architecture team in the Computer Lab. He is Sr Engineering Directo
 r in the Chrome OS Hardware team at Google. The team is responsible for re
 ference implementations and developing new technologies for Chromebooks. P
 rior to that he was involved in systems architecture at several semiconduc
 tor companies\, being VP of Systems Engineering at P.A. Semi\, Inc. (acqui
 red by Apple Inc.)\, Senior Manager of Hardware Systems Engineering at Bro
 adcom Corporation and System Architect at SiByte\, Inc. Earlier\, he was a
 t the Digital Equipment Corporation Systems Research Center. He holds a Ph
 D from the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.
