SUMMARY:A Liquid Helium Waveguided Terahertz and Optical Microphotolumines
cence Setup - Wladislaw Michailow\, University of Cambridge

DESCRIPTION:Combining terahertz and optics at cryogenic temperatures allow
s to \nexplore a variety of different physical effects\, such as e.g. phot
on assisted tunneling in self-assembled quantum dots. However\, conducting
such experiments requires a suitable setup.\n\nIn this talk\, I will show
a new setup\, that allows to simultaneously \nperform conventional microp
hotoluminescence spectroscopy and excite the electrically contacted sampl
e at liquid helium temperature with terahertz radiation using a waveguided
delivery system. I will \ndemonstrate the results of performance measurem
ents and characterisation of the system\, highlight options for focussing
terahertz radiation on the sample\, and comment on possible opportunities
 for experiments with the system.
