DESCRIPTION:The yoga of weights of Grothendieck and Deligne shows that coh
 omology of algebraic varieties has fundamental underlying symmetry. I will
  show that in the case of Hilbert modular varieties\, the weights can be f
 urther refined into what is called plectics weights. It provides evidence 
 of the plectic conjectures of Nekovar and Scholl.
