SUMMARY:Writing\, reading and transferring spins via electrical charges: m
oving towards ultra-fast and green computing - Dr. Chiara Ciccarelli\, Uni
 versity of Cambridge\, UK

DESCRIPTION:SOTs emerge from the spin-charge locking established by the br
eak of spacial inversion symmetry. This break can occur at the interface i
n a multilayer heterostructure or within the unit cell of a ferromagnet. \
n In this talk I will discuss my studies on SOTs [1] and on their reci
procal effect\, magnonic charge pumping [2]\, in inversion asymmetric ferr
omagnets. I will also discuss some new prospects where the break of invers
ion symmetry acts as a linking element that couples two states of matter t
raditionally considered incompatible\, ferromagnetism and BCS superconduct
ivity [3]. \n In the second part of the talk\, I will focus on our eff
orts to move our spintronics studies towards ultra-fast timescales particu
larly focusing on the picosecond readout of an antiferromagnetic state via
  THz emission spectroscopy.\n\n1. C. Ciccarelliet al.\, Nature Physics1
