DESCRIPTION:This will be the sixth Cambridge Journal of Regions\, Economy 
 and Society Conference and it will be held on 11-12 July 2019 at St Cathar
 ine’s College\, Cambridge.\n\nThe shifting landscape of concerns and con
 cepts in economic politics in places around the world\, calls for a rethin
 king of the political economy of place. Two of the key challenges – curr
 ently faced by cities\, regions\, nations and supranational institutions a
 round the world – are improving productivity and fostering inclusion. Th
 is conference is looking to shed new light on these challenges\, in partic
 ular when these two challenges are taken in conjunction. We furthermore ai
 m to set these challenges in a broader context. Relating these challenges 
 to the implicit and explicit power structures and processes\, prevailing a
 t various scales within contemporary capitalism.
