DESCRIPTION:We will introduce quantitative approaches to the study of sepa
 rability in nilpotent and solvable groups. In particular\, we will describ
 e effective residual finiteness\, effective subgroup separability\, and ef
 fective conjugacy separability\, and discuss various results for asymptoti
 c upper and lower bounds for these classes of groups. Moreover\, we will i
 ntroduce the algebraic\, number theoretic\, and geometric methods used in 
 the construction of these asymptotic bounds.
