DESCRIPTION:The human gut microbiome is essential to our health and imbala
 nces in the microbiota are thought to underpin many human diseases.  Advan
 ces in microbiology and genomics in recent years have made the microbiome 
 more accessible to scientists who want to exploit it for the development o
 f new drugs.  This talk will discuss the human gut microbiota\, how it inf
 luences our health\, and how it can be targeted and leveraged for the deve
 lopment of new medicines to treat human diseases.
