DESCRIPTION:We study the problem of designing a logistics network by offer
ing different delivery services (for example high (12h)\, middle (24h)\, a
nd low (48h)) on each demand point. A network design is proposed which con
siders the various consumer requirements and different modes of transporta
tion simultaneously to obtain satisfactory hub location-allocation scheme
with a minimum cost. To solve the optimization model\, a two-stage solutio
n algorithm integrating the modified cross entropy algorithm and the Tabu
search algorithm is developed. Some numerical examples are illustrated to
validate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
