DESCRIPTION:Professor Michale Meaney\, Professor at the Departments of Psy
 chiatry and Neurology and Neurosurgery\, McGill University\, Canada\, will
  be presenting at the University of Cambridge on the 18th July 2008.\n\nHi
 s talk is entitled: \n\n'Maternal care and the epigenetic regulation of ge
 ne expression and neuroendocrine function' \n\nand will describe how mater
 nal care modifies the expression of genes that regulate behavioural and ne
 uroendocrine responses to stress\, as well as hippocampal synaptic develop
 ment.\n\nMichael Meaney has authored over 180 publications and presented a
 t research institutes\, government health agencies\, and scientific meetin
 gs throughout the world.\n\nIn 2007\, he was elected to the Royal Society 
 of Canada (RSC) and named a Knight of the National Order of Quebec. In 200
 7 he was also recognized by the Institute for Scientific Information as a 
 “Most Highly Cited Scientist” in the area of neuroscience.\n\n\n\n
