 tract: The lecture will cover analysis of elastic waves in a flexural plat
 e\, which contains a semi-infinite structured duct.<br> The problem is red
 uced to a functional equation of the Wiener-Hopf type. The Kernel function
  reflects on the quasi-periodic <br> Green&#39\;s function for an infinite
  periodic structure. Analysis of the Kernel function enables us to identif
 y localised waveguide modes.<br> Homogenisation approximation has been der
 ived to explain the modulation of the wave trapped within the structured d
 uct.<br> Analytical findings are accompanied by numerical examples and sim
 ulations.
