ing math\, physics and phenomenology - Jose Eliel Camargo-Molina (Imperial

DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will approach the subject of vacuum stability f
rom three different perspectives: Setting constraints in theories with man
y scalars\, systematizing vacuum stability studies of generic models and t
he details of using phase transitions in the early universe as a phenomeno
logical test. After setting up the basics of vacuum decay and why it matte
rs as a phenomenological test of BSM theories\, I will introduce the new v
ersion of Vevacious (a code tackling the whole pipeline from Lagrangian to
estimation of vacuum decay rates) and how it is being used alongside cut
ting-edge global fits with the GAMBIT framework. Lastly I will talk about
how phase transitions can also lead to phenomenological tests of inflation
ary and cosmology models with an overview of the current state-of-the-art\
, including the current open questions I find most interesting and crucial
 .
