DESCRIPTION:We investigate a stochastic approach to non-equilibrium quantu
 m spin \nsystems based on links between quantum and classical dynamics. \n
 Exploiting a sequence of exact transformations\, quantum expectation \nval
 ues can be recast as averages over classical stochastic processes. We \nil
 lustrate this approach for the quantum Ising model by extracting the \nLos
 chmidt amplitude and the magnetization dynamics from the numerical \nsolut
 ion of stochastic differential equations. We show that dynamical \nquantum
  phase transitions are accompanied by clear signatures in the \nassociated
  classical distribution functions\, including the presence of \nenhanced f
 luctuations. We demonstrate that the method is capable of \nhandling integ
 rable and non-integrable problems in a unified framework\, \nincluding tho
 se in higher dimensions.
