DESCRIPTION:The Cucker-Smale model describes collective behavior in many-b
ody systems\, such as flocking of birds\, schooling of fishes. When the co
mmunication weight has a long range\, the model has asymptotic flocking fo
r any initial data. However\, asymptotic flocking would be fail for the sh
ort range communicated Cucker-Smale model with general initial data. Based
on a new equality\, we will discuss asymptotic flocking and other asympto
tic behavior for the model with short range communication weights. Well-po
sedness and asymptotic behavior of solutions are also discussed for the ki
 netic Cucker-Smale model.
