SUMMARY:Not Yet Finding Third Generation Supersymmetry - Calum Macdonald (

DESCRIPTION:Searches for SUSY at the LHC have yet to reveal any significan
t deviations from the Standard Model. In this talk\, instead of being made
depressed by thousands of exclusion limits on simplified models\, you wil
l be shown a couple of new ATLAS Third Generation SUSY results obtained wi
th the 2015-2018 pp collision dataset. (Spoiler: these do not have have si
gnificant excesses either). You will obtain a greater insight into how sea
rches for SUSY are performed at the LHC\; from the full motivation of thes
e specific searches to the analysis of their now publicly available likeli
hoods. It is clear that if SUSY\, or any other BSM theory\, is to be disco
vered at the LHC\, it will be much harder than the discovery of the Higgs.
Hopefully this talk will give you some optimism that BSM could be hiding
in not-so-plain sight at the TeV scale.
