DESCRIPTION:Supersymmetric approach has proved to be a powerful tool for t
he study of random systems in mesoscopic physics\, where classical techni
ques do not apply. I'll give an introduction to the technique in the case
of a hyperbolic sigma model. This model is expected to describe qualitativ
ely properties of random band matrices in d dimensions such as localizatio
n and delocalization. (Joint work with T. Spencer and M. Zirnbauer)
