DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will discuss our recent work on quantum effec
ts in zero-error communication. For the communication through classical ch
annels\, I will introduce a "dual" characterization for the entanglement-a
ssisted zero-error capacity using Strassen's theory of asymptotic spectra\
, which as a consequence unifies previous results and naturally gives rise
to new questions. For the communication through quantum channels\, I will
present a quantum generalisation of Haemers' min rank upper bound on the
zero-error capacity of classical channels. Analogy to the classical settin
g\, our quantum Haemers bound upper bounds the zero-error capacity of quan
tum channels\, and can be strictly better than all the other known upper b
ounds.\n\nThis talk is based on joint work with Jeroen Zuiddam (arXiv:1810
.00744) and Sander Gribling (in preparation).\n\n
