DESCRIPTION:Random matrices and random tilings provide an example of stron
gly interacting variables. To analyze their asymptotics\, a central tool i
s the uses of the Dyson-Schwinger equations. Following this approach we wi
ll discuss the central limit theorem and the topological expansion for ran
dom matrices. We will show how such ideas extend to random tilings.
