DESCRIPTION:This talk aims to demonstrate how the active involvement of li
nguists in community-led activities and of communities in academic researc
h can contribute to a more inclusive and balanced relationship. The balanc
ing of this relationship serves to empower minoritized communities\, stren
gthen community actions\, and bring about richer and more meaningful acade
mic outputs by including indigenous/local perspectives in any type of acad
emic research (Yamada 2007\, 2014\, Fitzgerald 2010). This could be achiev
ed via the use and establishment (or strengthening) of mutually informativ
e support networks for the active stakeholders from different backgrounds
and interests\, involved in endangered language research\, documentation a
 nd/or revitalization.
