DESCRIPTION:* NOTE THE UNUSUAL TIME *\n\nAnalogies as a reasoning tool all
ow us to form links between seemingly unrelated structures\, whether in th
e context of problem solving\, product suggestions\, or otherwise. Corresp
ondences capture the atomic units of analogy\, on which we define rules fo
r expanding a correspondence set and assigning strengths to individual cor
respondences. ‘Junk’ correspondences are sometimes derived\, but inter
active tools and domain constraints provide refinement opportunities. More
deeply understanding analogical components provides insight into human re
asoning\, and can be used to support users in many cognitive domains.
